Hurricanes Face Ducks with Andersen in Goal

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen will attempt to win his fifth consecutive start as he faces the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. The veteran backstop has been impressive in March, going 4-1 and allowing two goals or fewer in all five appearances.

However, Andersen’s team will be without star winger Andrei Svechnikov, who is expected to miss a sixth consecutive game due to an upper-body injury. Rod Brind’Amour hopes to have Svechnikov back in the lineup this weekend, but his status remains uncertain.

Injuries to several key players, including Seth Jarvis and Jordan Staal, will also impact the Hurricanes’ lineup. Shayne Gostisbehere will take warm-ups for a spot on the team, with a final decision yet to be made.

Meanwhile, Andersen’s counterpart in net for the Ducks is expected to be Ryan Miller, although goalie coach Mike Liut did not confirm his starting role before the game.
