Hurricanes Stick with Andersen for Game 4 Against Panthers

The Carolina Hurricanes will return to Frederik Andersen in net for Game 4 against the Florida Panthers. Coach Rod Brind’Amour has opted to go back to the goalie who had been the best in the Stanley Cup Playoffs through two rounds, despite a poor performance in Game 1 and a struggling team effort in Game 2. Andersen entered the series with a strong postseason record but needed a fresh start after a couple of days off. The team will be without Jalen Chatfield and Sean Walker again due to undisclosed injuries, and Scott Morrow and Alexander Nikishin are expected to start on defense for the second consecutive night.

Brind’Amour praised the performance of Nikishin in Game 3, saying he was “really proud” of how much more comfortable he looked. The lineup has been set for tonight’s game, with Jordan Staal taking a spot on the top line alongside Martinook and Stankoven.
