Husker Nation Mourns Loss of Beloved Jack Hoffman

Tributes are pouring in for Jack Hoffman, the 19-year-old former Nebraska football player who passed away after a battle with brain cancer. Hoffman, who was diagnosed at age five, is best known for his iconic 69-yard touchdown run during the 2013 Nebraska Spring Game.

The game sparked a movement to advance research and treatment for pediatric brain cancer through the Team Jack Foundation, which Hoffman’s family co-founded. The foundation has since raised nearly $13 million to support childhood brain cancer research.

Leaders across the country, including Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, U.S. Senators Deb Fischer, Mike Flood, Adrian Smith, and Congressman Don Bacon, are paying tribute to Hoffman’s courage and inspiration. Comedian Larry the Cable Guy also urged donations to the Team Jack Foundation, saying that Hoffman “brought Nebraskans from all over together for a common goal.”

Hoffman’s legacy continues to inspire, and his impact will be felt for years to come. The team at KOLN is heartbroken by his loss and sends all their love to the Hoffman family.
