Huskers Start New Era with Thrilling 3-1 Win Over Pittsburgh

The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team kicked off the Dani Busboom Kelly era with a thrilling 3-1 win over No. 3 Pittsburgh at sold-out Pinnacle Bank Arena. Harper Murray led the team with 15 kills, while Andi Jackson had 10 kills and eight blocks to earn MVP of the match honors.

The Huskers dominated the match, hitting .224 as a team and holding the Panthers to a .111 hitting percentage. Nebraska’s Taylor Landfair and Rebekah Allick both posted eight blocks, while Bergen Reilly recorded a double-double with 40 assists and 10 digs.

Despite Olivia Babcock’s 21 kills for Pittsburgh, the Huskers held her to a .121 hitting percentage. The match was a back-and-forth affair, but Nebraska’s momentum carried over from the first set into the second, as they took a 5-1 lead and never looked back.

The fourth set was the most closely contested, with Pittsburgh leading 23-20 before a clutch kill by Murray and triple block by Jackson, Reilly, and Landfair sealed the win for the Huskers. The team will look to build on this momentum as they face No. 6 Stanford on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.
