A YouTuber has created a unique water gun that shoots ice bullets, challenging conventional notions of water warfare. The gun’s complex design involves freezing water into solid projectiles before firing, allowing it to maintain its shape and travel much farther.
The creator aimed to surpass the limitations of traditional water guns, which typically have a maximum range of around 30 feet. To achieve this, they devised a method to freeze water into ice bullets, overcoming air resistance and enabling the projectiles to travel further.
The internal mechanism of the gun is a complex assembly of custom-designed parts, including valves that control water flow, a pump that moves water within the system, and cooling elements that freeze the water. The process begins with water being pumped into a small chamber, where thermoelectric cooling elements freeze it into ice pellets.
To prevent the ice from expanding and becoming lodged in the chamber, the creator included two heating elements to warm the block slightly after freezing, creating a thin film of water around the pellet. This ensures that the ice bullets can be easily ejected from the gun.
Compressed air propels the ice bullets out of the barrel at high speed, while LED strips on the sides provide visual cues, indicating when the ice bullets are ready to be fired. The creator’s innovative design pushes the boundaries of what defines a water gun, sparking debate about whether it can truly be classified as one.
