The Summit County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an operation by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Dillon Valley. The investigation targeted a Mexican restaurant, Hacienda Real, due to an anonymous tip. Although the sheriff’s office did not provide support or assistance, it acknowledged that ICE has federal law enforcement powers.
The sheriff stated that the operation was part of a “targeted criminal investigation,” and no arrests were made. Despite previous rumors, the operation is not confirmed as civil immigration enforcement. The restaurant, Hacienda Real, reported being temporarily closed due to the investigation, but its owner declined to comment on the matter.
