ICE Warns Illegal Immigrant of Deportation to Uganda

A U.S. citizen who was released from jail in Tennessee is facing deportation to Uganda, according to documents obtained by Fox News. Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s lawyers were notified that he may be deported within 72 hours and must check in with an ICE agent in Baltimore on Monday.

Garcia was previously deported to El Salvador for suspected ties to MS-13, but his immigration status was later granted protection from gang targeting. He was brought back to the U.S. in June on human smuggling charges after a traffic stop.

The Trump administration has pursued the case against him despite acknowledging an “administrative error” in deportation. Garcia’s lawyers were given 72 hours’ notice before any deportation proceedings can begin, as per a court order.

Uganda reached a deal with the U.S. to accept third-party deportations, which may be Abrego Garcia’s fate. The ICE secretary described him as a “monster” and vowed to fight for his removal from the country.
