A 70-year-old man, Christopher Talbot of Meridian, has been arrested for allegedly hitting a protester with his car during a Tesla protest on Saturday. The victim, a counter-protester, was driving to the scene when Talbot, who made an obscene gesture, struck him with his vehicle. Despite non-life-threatening injuries, the victim drove himself to the hospital and later recorded Talbot’s license plate, leading police to his home. Talbot is facing one count of Aggravated Battery and has been booked into the Ada County Jail. The Meridian Police Department urges everyone to respect protesters’ rights to peaceful assembly and expression.
