The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a limited operation against terrorists and terror infrastructure in the Indonesian Hospital area of Jabalya, Gaza Strip. The operation aimed to neutralize anti-missile attacks and terrorist cells carrying out strikes from the hospital.
Terrorists had planted explosive devices and booby traps in the area surrounding the hospital’s compound, prompting the IDF to take action. During the operation, the troops apprehended several terrorists, including one who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 Hamas attacks. Five additional terrorists were killed.
To minimize harm to civilians, the IDF created evacuation routes for ambulances to transport patients from the hospital to additional medical facilities. Multiple warnings had been issued to the Gazan Health Ministry about terrorist activity within the hospital, highlighting how Hamas exploits civilian infrastructure and populations as human shields.
The operation was a response to the use of the hospital for terror activities, emphasizing the need to hold those responsible accountable while prioritizing the safety of civilians.
