Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in 20 states and Union Territories (UTs) across India, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The warning covers regions including Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Uttarakhand. Rainfall is forecasted for Thursday in Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry can expect it on Friday. The IMD has issued the warning to prepare these regions for potential heavy rainfall and its associated impacts.
