Lynsi Snyder, president of In-N-Out Burger since 2010, revealed that her family is relocating from California to Tennessee due to the challenges of raising a family in the state. Speaking on the “Relatable” podcast, Snyder expressed frustration with doing business and raising a family in California.
The company plans to maintain a presence in California but will close its Irvine headquarters by 2030 and return to its office in Baldwin Park. Corporate workers will be transferred to either their Baldwin Park or Tennessee headquarters.
In-N-Out broke ground on a new 100,000-square-foot office building in Franklin, Tennessee, in September 2024, with plans to open its first Tennessee restaurants by 2026. Snyder rejected invitations to expand into Florida and other East Coast states but hinted at potential future growth.
Snyder cited the state’s crime rates and regulatory challenges as reasons for relocating her family. She mentioned specific issues such as the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s requirement to check vaccine cards during the pandemic, which she believes was “terrible” and led to legal backlash.
Despite these struggles, Snyder expressed optimism about expanding into new markets, particularly from In-N-Out’s existing Texas warehouse facility, where they can supply beef for stores.
