India’s benchmark stock indices, Sensex and Nifty, started the day on a positive note, with both trading above their opening levels. The Sensex has surged over 1,000 points, while the Nifty is currently trading near its 23,600 mark. As of 12:37 pm, the S&P BSE Senses added 1,003.06 points to reach 77,908.57, and the NSE Nifty50 gained 286.95 points to stand at 23,637.35.
