The Indiana Fever (2-1) earned a hard-fought 81-76 road victory over the Atlanta Dream on Monday. Natasha Howard led the way with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell added 17 points.
After a slow start, Indiana’s bench stepped up in the second quarter, thanks to eight points from Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull. The Fever took their first lead of the game at halftime, thanks to strong defensive play by Damiris Dantas and clutch shooting from Mitchell.
In the fourth quarter, Howard continued her dominant performance, scoring seven more points. With the score tied inside the two-minute mark, Mitchell sunk a clutch three-pointer to give Indiana back the lead. The Fever secured the win with a layup from Aliyah Boston in the final minute, thanks to Cunningham drawing an offensive foul.
