Intel Corp. has strengthened its board with the addition of two semiconductor industry veterans, Eric Meurice and Steve Sanghi, following CEO Pat Gelsinger’s departure earlier this week. The move aims to bring “experience and operational vigor” to the company as it seeks a new CEO to stage its biggest comeback in history. Meurise, former ASML Holding NV CEO, and Sanghi, Microchip Technology Inc. head, will serve as independent directors on the board, effective immediately.
