Intel Corporation announced plans to separate its global venture capital arm, Intel Capital, into a standalone fund. The new fund will operate independently, allowing it to attract external capital and align with other leading venture firms.
Established in 1991, Intel Capital is one of the world’s leading corporate venture investors, managing over $5 billion in assets under management. In its 30-year history, the firm has invested in over 1,800 companies, deploying more than $20 billion in capital and creating over $170 billion in market value through early-stage startups.
The separation will support Intel’s strategy to maximize asset value and drive focus and efficiency across the business. Standalone operations are expected to begin in the second half of 2025, with the new company operating under a different name. The existing team will transition to the new entity, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Intel remains committed to its venture capital efforts, with plans to continue investing in early-stage startups across key areas such as silicon, frontier, devices, and cloud.
