Amazon has introduced two new devices to its Kindle family: the 16 GB Kindle Colorsoft and the Kindle Colorsoft Kids. The devices feature high-contrast color displays, weeks of battery life, and access to Amazon’s vast eBook store.
The 16 GB Kindle Colorsoft costs $249.99 and offers a high-contrast display, fast page turns, an adjustable warm light, and weeks of battery life. It also features the ability to browse covers in color, see book photos and images in color, and add highlights in different colors. The device is suitable for customers who prefer to read on pages with a dark background, as it offers a Page Color feature that inverts black text and white backgrounds.
The Kindle Colorsoft Kids costs $269.99 and comes with an illustrated cover, one year of Amazon Kids+, and a two-year worry-free guarantee. It’s designed for young readers and features easy-on-the-eyes color, no distracting notifications, apps, or messaging. The device also includes features such as Vocabulary Builder, Word Wise, and OpenDyslexic font to help with reading comprehension.
Amazon aims to bring the joy of reading in color to more customers with these new devices. With the introduction of Kindle Colorsoft, Amazon is making it easier for readers to access a wider range of content, including graphic novels, book covers, and images, in full color.
