A US-based space firm, Intuitive Machines, is poised to make history again with its second moon landing mission. The company’s six-legged Nova-C lunar lander, Athena, is scheduled to launch on Wednesday and land near the Shackleton crater on the moon’s south pole. Athena will drill into the surface to search for water ice and other gases. This marks the third time Intuitive Machines has partnered with NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative. The company had previously landed on the moon in February last year, making it the first private company to do so under the program.
