Ione Skye has finally confirmed what fans have suspected for decades – she hooked up with John Cusack. According to her new memoir, Say Everything, the romance occurred years after her divorce from her first husband in 2000.
Skye wrote that she had to get it out of her system and revealed juicy details on famous friends and foes, including River Phoenix, Keanu Reeves, Matthew Perry, Madonna, Sofia Coppola, and Beastie Boy ex Adam Horovitz. She also dished about her tumultuous teen relationships, bisexuality, and numerous affairs.
The 51-year-old actress started acting as a teenager and had early crushes on Phoenix and Reeves. However, her off-stage love affairs were chaotic. She dated rockstar Anthony Kiedis while still 16, got pregnant, and eventually had an abortion. Skye also had a secret fling with runway model Jenny Shimizu, who dated Madonna and Angelina Jolie.
Skye’s memoir covers her tumultuous relationships, including her marriage to Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys. The couple’s relationship ended due to Skye’s infidelity, which she attributes to deep insecurity. She has since been in a stable relationship with Australian musician Ben Lee for 16 years.
However, not everyone is pleased with Skye’s revelations. After reading her memoir, John Cusack texted her: “You made the experience sound so meh! It wasn’t ‘meh’ for me.”
