iOS 18.2 Update: 4 Essential Settings Changes You Need to Know

ZDNET Recommends:

iOS 18.2 rolled out recently, bringing new features like Visual Intelligence and Image Playground. While AI updates take center stage, this update also introduces quality-of-life improvements to iPhones that you may not be aware of.

Here are four key changes you need to know:

1. Customizable Home Screen: iOS 18.2 allows users to arrange app icons in any order they please, no longer limited by a strict grid. You can also apply dark mode, tint icons to a single color, or adjust luminosity.

2. Simplified Photos App: Users can now clear out the Recently Viewed and Recently Shared albums with just a tap, rather than having to remove each photo individually. Additionally, Apple has introduced an auto-loop function toggle, allowing users to disable it in Settings.

3. Camera Control Improvements: The iPhone 16 Pro series now allows users to restrict the Camera Control button to only work when the screen is turned on. This helps prevent accidental presses while holding the phone horizontally.

4. Enhanced Find My: iOS 18.2 enables users to share the location of an AirTag with major airlines to help find lost luggage. Simply tap “Share Item Location” in the AirTags app, and a temporary webpage will be generated with a link you can share with your airline.

These changes may seem minor, but they significantly enhance your iPhone experience.
