Apple has revealed that iOS 19 will not be compatible with older iPhone models, including the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The devices in question are equipped with an A12 Bionic chip, which Apple plans to discontinue support for.
On the other hand, all other iPhones running iOS 18 are expected to support iOS 19, with a full compatibility list available on Apple’s website. Advanced features may be limited to newer iPhones with faster processors.
When it comes to iPadOS 19, iPads with A10 Fusion chip will no longer receive updates. However, devices equipped with the A12 Bionic, such as the iPad mini 5, are expected to remain compatible.
Apple plans to introduce iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9. The company has also released iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4, which include various updates and improvements.
