Apple is set to unveil design changes across its operating systems, including a revamped look for iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the design updates will extend to tvOS 19 for the Apple TV and watchOS 12 for the Apple Watch.
The new designs are reportedly inspired by visionOS for Apple’s Vision Pro headset, aiming for a more consistent appearance across its operating systems, particularly on Macs and iPads. iPadOS 19 is expected to feature improved multitasking, productivity, and app window management, with some reports suggesting a macOS-like menu bar when using an iPad connected to a Magic Keyboard.
The design changes are codenamed “Solarium,” which could hint at the more translucent menus and buttons that will be featured across iOS 19 and other upcoming software updates. The Apple developer conference WWDC 2025 is just around the corner, with Gurman stating that the redesigned software platforms will be the highlight of the show.
This update is part of a broader trend of design changes within Apple, including the launch of smart glasses by the end of 2026 and an overhaul of its Calendar app. The company’s focus on user experience and consistency across its products is evident in these announcements, as it prepares for its major software updates later this year.
