Iowa State Cyclones Snap Three-Game Losing Streak

Iowa State’s Curtis Jones returned to the starting lineup, and it paid off in a big way as the Cyclones defeated TCU 82-52, snapping their three-game losing streak. Jones was back to his form, scoring 24 points, including five threes, while also contributing an assist and rebound.

The win marked a significant turnaround for the team, which had struggled without Milan Momcilovic on the floor. Coach T.J. Otzelberger praised Jones’s performance, saying he is “an elite play-making, scoring guard” who excels when playing with a cohesive unit.

Jones attributes his strong play to the return of his teammate and fellow shooter Milan Momcilovic. The two players combined for 17 three-pointers, with Momcilovic making four threes. Jones said that having two shooters like himself and Momcilovic on the court allows other teammates to score in the paint more easily.

The win is a welcome boost to Iowa State’s season, which has been marked by inconsistency without Momcilovic. The Cyclones will look to build on this momentum as they face UCF on Tuesday, with Jones once again expected to be a key contributor.
