iPhone 16e vs. iPhone 16: Key Features and Differences

Apple has announced the release of its latest smartphones, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e. The two devices share many similarities but also have some key differences.

The main difference between the two devices is their price. The iPhone 16 costs $799, while the iPhone 16e starts at $599. This makes the iPhone 16e a budget-friendly option with comparable features to its more expensive counterpart.

In terms of design and display, both phones feature 6.1-inch Super Retina OLED screens. However, the iPhone 16 has Apple’s dynamic island, which provides a way for users to check in on alerts and activity progress. The iPhone 16e instead uses Apple’s notch, featuring a small black area at the top of the screen that houses the front camera, top speaker, and face ID technology.

The cameras are another point of differentiation between the two devices. The iPhone 16 features two rear cameras with a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, while the iPhone 16e has only one rear camera with a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens.

Both phones support Apple Intelligence, which includes features like image manipulation tools and a custom emoji maker. However, the iPhone 16e comes with some exclusive features, including a first-ever cellular modem.

When it comes to battery life, both devices boast improved performance. The iPhone 16 can last up to 22 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 16e can last up to 26 hours.

In terms of internal hardware, both phones feature Apple’s A18 chip and support iOS 18. However, the GPU is slightly different between the two devices, with the iPhone 16 having a 5-core GPU and the iPhone 16e having a 4-core GPU.

The iPhone 16e will be available for pre-order on Friday and will hit stores on February 28th.
