iPhone 17 Air Battery Thickness Revealed, Thinnest Yet

Apple’s new iPhone 17 Air boasts a battery pack just 2.49mm thick, half the thickness of its Pro counterpart. The device is set to launch later this year and is expected to come with varying battery capacities, ranging from below 3,000mAh to possibly over 5,000mAh in the Pro Max model.

The new iPhone’s internal dimensions have been confirmed by a Korean blog account that claims the device will weigh around 145 grams. Apple has also adopted advanced battery technology, with supplier TDK preparing to ship silicon-anode batteries by June.

However, reports suggest there may be some trade-offs in terms of battery performance, with some estimates suggesting users might only get between 60-70% usage time before needing recharging. To address this issue, Apple plans to release a battery case as an optional accessory.

While some analysts predict the iPhone 17 Air will have worse battery life compared to previous models, others believe it could be on par with current iPhones thanks to hardware and software optimizations. The device is expected to launch alongside other new models in September, according to Apple’s typical fall release schedule.
