Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air is expected to come with an A19 Pro chip featuring a 5-core GPU, according to Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo. The leak claims that only the iPhone 17 Pro models will have the full 6-core GPU configuration.
This is not the first time Fixed Focus Digital has accurately predicted iPhone details; they also previously broke news about the iPhone 16e. However, this claim contradicts earlier predictions by industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the standard A19 chip would be used in the iPhone 17 Air.
The base iPhone 17 model is now expected to have an A19 chip, following a recent change of heart from supply chain analyst Jeff Pu. Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is set to launch next month, with an announcement rumored for September 9.
