New leaks about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup reveal thinner designs, redesigned cameras, and upgraded screens. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the slimmest iPhone ever at just 5.5 mm thick, matching dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro Max (163 mm long, 77.6 mm wide, and a 6.9-inch screen). Other models vary in thickness: standard iPhone 17 at 7.6 mm, and Pro/Pro Max variants at 8.6 mm to accommodate larger batteries and triple-lens camera systems.
Camera designs differ across models: the Air’s rear camera features a Google Pixel-like circular “island” extending across its back, while Pro models have thicker islands for triple lenses. The flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor are stacked on one side of the island.
Screens for the Air (6.7-inch) and Pro Max (6.9-inch) reportedly boast resolutions of 2796×1290 and 2868×1320 pixels. Both models will have 48MP main cameras and 12MP front-facing lenses, with the Pro Max adding two extra rear lenses. Storage starts at 128GB for Air and 256GB for Pro Max.
Apple plans to introduce its first iPhone Air model in September, positioning it as a lighter, more affordable alternative to prior Plus models. Details are expected to be confirmed during Apple’s traditional September product event.
