A leak from Digital Chat Station suggests that future iPhone models will have high-refresh rate OLED displays, potentially making this feature standard across the iPhone 17 lineup. The rumor claims the base iPhone 17 will feature a high refresh rate, building on previous supply chain whispers and predictions by analyst Ross Young.
Young had previously hinted at Apple using the same LTPO panel tech for next year’s phones, which drives variable refresh rate displays on iPhone 16 Pro models. The rumored changes also include replacing the “Plus” iPhone with an “iPhone 17 Slim,” which may have similar display technology to the Pro Max model but differ in other ways, such as Face ID sensor size and RAM.
Other expected upgrades include 24MP front-facing cameras and Apple-designed Wi-Fi / Bluetooth chips across the entire lineup. The iPhone 17 series is anticipated to launch in 2025.
