A recent rumor has sparked speculation that Nintendo may be hosting a presentation, potentially called a “Mini” or “Partner” Direct, for the original Switch console. The news comes after leakers PH Brazil and NateTheHate claimed to have heard from insiders that Nintendo is planning something this week.
Nate mentioned that he believes the presentation will take place on Thursday, but added that he’s not 100% certain about the format. This leaves room for speculation that it could be a Mini Direct, featuring minor titles, or a Partner Direct, which might include small-scale ports of existing games.
The leak also mentions that Metroid Prime 4 is still in development and has no new information since last summer. In contrast, Pokémon Legends Z-A is expected to release on the original Switch console alongside other popular titles like Super Mario RPG, Pikmin 1 & 2, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
While a Mini Direct might not be as exciting as a full-fledged Nintendo Direct, it would still provide some new information about upcoming games. On the other hand, if Nintendo decides to host a Partner Direct, it could include some high-profile third-party titles like Persona 3/4/5 or Nier:Autoamata.
The presentation is expected to happen next week, and fans are eagerly awaiting news about the original Switch console’s remaining content.
