A fatal stabbing attack occurred on Monday in the Israeli port city of Haifa, leaving one person dead and four injured. The attacker, identified as a 70-year-old Israeli Druze resident, was neutralized by security guards at the scene.
The incident took place at central Lev HaMifratz bus station in Haifa, a coastal city with a mixed Jewish and Arab population. The suspect had recently returned to Israel after spending time abroad and also held German citizenship.
The attack comes as negotiations on the next stage of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas stalled following the six-week first phase ending at the weekend.
