Israel has announced it will shut down its embassy in Dublin after the Irish government backed a Hague petition against the country. The move comes as a result of what Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar termed “extreme anti-Israel policies” by Ireland. Notably, Ireland recently supported South African legal action at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of genocide, and earlier recognized a Palestinian state, prompting Israel to recall its ambassador in protest.
