Israel Escalates Gaza War Amid Firing of Rockets at Tel Aviv

A two-month cease-fire in Gaza collapsed this week, and Israel expanded its ground operations across the Gaza Strip. Hamas responded by firing rockets at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv.

The conflict has left Palestinians exhausted and fearful about their future. Many feel that a resolution to the crisis is unlikely soon.

Hamas officials have reiterated their demands for the release of living Israeli and foreign hostages held in Gaza, as well as an agreement to end the war and a full Israeli withdrawal from the territory.

Israel has vowed to step up pressure on Hamas until the group capitulates and releases more hostages. The situation remains volatile, with tensions escalating between Israel and Gaza.

The 15-month war in Gaza has already killed over 48,000 people, including thousands of children. A comprehensive truce is sought by mediators, but a broader agreement has yet to be reached.

The conflict has also drawn in other countries, with the Iran-backed Houthi militia resuming rocket attacks on Israel and the United States carrying out large-scale attacks against them in Yemen.
