Israel Plans to Expand Control in Gaza Strip

Israel’s government is set to unveil a plan for the Gaza Strip, which includes occupying new areas and relocating approximately one million residents. The plan, backed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, involves around five IDF divisions and will last for about five months. US President Donald Trump expressed support for increasing humanitarian aid in Gaza, stating that he wants to “feed the people” there.

However, the proposal has raised concerns among some officials, including IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, who believes it’s a “mistake” and could put hostages at risk. Despite this opposition, Zamir is expected to remain in his position.

The security cabinet is scheduled to discuss the plan on Thursday, with some sources suggesting that different versions may be presented for approval. This move has significant implications for Israel’s military operations in Gaza and its relationships with other countries.
