Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon Amid Ceasefire Violations

Israel’s air force launched airstrikes against several military sites in Lebanese territory containing rocket launchers and weapons, amid reports of ceasefire violations with Hamas and Hezbollah. The strikes killed a senior Hezbollah commander, Abbas Ahmad Hamoud, who was responsible for many drone strikes into Israel.

Hezbollah had been firing surveillance drones at Israel during the ceasefire period. Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that if there were drones, “there would be no Hezbollah” and vowed to prevent further attacks on Israeli territory.

The airstrike in Lebanon occurred near Nabatieh and targeted areas with known Hezbollah activity. The IDF also reported earlier strikes against armed terrorists in southern Gaza. Reports say three policemen were killed during a humanitarian aid convoy east of Rafah.

Hezbollah-affiliated news outlet Al Mayadeen claimed that two more had been killed and three others injured in the airstrike. However, the IDF has not commented on other alleged casualties at this time.
