Israeli Forces Kill 2 Palestinian Women in West Bank Raid

Two Palestinian women were killed in an Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank on Sunday. A 23-year-old woman, Sundos Jamal Mohammed Shalabi, was shot and killed while eight months pregnant, along with her husband, who was critically wounded. The incident occurred in Nur Shams, a historic refugee camp, as Israeli forces searched for militants.

The Israeli military said the forces were scanning a house when they called on inhabitants to exit, but the woman did not come out and was fatally wounded. Another 21-year-old woman was also shot dead in a separate incident.

The operation is part of a larger counter-terrorism effort in the north of the West Bank, which Israel says targets Iranian-backed militants. The Israeli military has expanded the operation from Jenin to other areas, including Tulkarm and Tamun.

Thousands of Palestinians have fled their homes due to the military campaign, which Palestinian officials describe as one of the most destructive in recent memory. Dozens of Palestinians have been killed, according to the Palestinian Authority’s Health Ministry.
