Israeli Man Killed in Haifa Bus Station Stabbing Attack

A terrorist stabbing attack at a bus station in northern Israel’s city of Haifa has left one person dead and four others wounded, police say. The attacker, identified as Yitro Shaheen, 20, from the town of Shfaram, was shot dead by security guards after getting off a bus at HaMifratz Central station.

The victim, Hassan Dahamsha, 70, from the Arab town of Kafr Kanna, died on the scene. Three of those wounded – a 15-year-old boy and two adults in their 30s – are in serious condition. The attacker had recently returned to Israel after being abroad for several months.

Israeli Druze leaders have condemned the attack, with one community leader saying it does not reflect the true spirit of the Druze community. Hamas has described the attack as “heroic” and a response to Israeli actions against Palestinians. Tensions remain high between Israel and Hamas over a six-week-old Gaza ceasefire deal.

The incident comes amid reports that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” before launching the attack, but authorities have not specified a motive for the violence.
