Israeli Raid Kills Four Doctors at Gaza Hospital

At least four doctors were killed in a raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza on Friday, according to hospital director Dr Hussam Abu Saifya. The Israeli military stormed the compound, killing and injuring dozens of people in surrounding areas.

Eyewitnesses report that Israeli troops forced health care workers and patients to leave the facility, destroyed critical medical supplies, and detained a “large number” of young men, including health workers and Palestinians seeking refuge.

Dr Abu Saifya described the attack as a series of airstrikes on the hospital’s northern and western sides, followed by intense and direct fire. The Israeli military took patients, displaced people, and health workers to a checkpoint further south.

The raid comes amid ongoing tensions in northern Gaza, where the Israeli military has been carrying out incursions since October 5. Human rights agencies have repeatedly accused Israel of subjecting residents to relocation or starvation.

According to Dr Abu Saifya, hundreds of bodies and wounded individuals were found in the streets surrounding the hospital. The situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital is described as catastrophic, with critical medical supplies severely damaged and only two inexperienced surgeons available to administer life-saving care.

The Israeli military has denied striking or operating within the hospital, claiming it was targeting Hamas’ renewed presence in the nearby Jabalya area. However, human rights agencies have accused Israel of practicing all forms of killing and violence at Kamal Adwan Hospital.
