Israeli strikes on two southern Lebanese villages have killed six people and wounded five, according to the Lebanese health ministry. The attacks occurred in Beit Lif village and Deir Seryan, with one person killed in a drone strike.
The incidents come amidst ongoing tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah faction, despite a fragile ceasefire that has been in place for less than two weeks. The Israeli military has yet to comment on the strikes.
Tensions have persisted despite the truce, with both sides accusing each other of violations. US officials earlier stated that the ceasefire was holding, but also anticipated potential breaches.
