Israelis Refuse IDF Service in First-Ever Conference

In a groundbreaking event, approximately 200 people gathered at the Radical Idea House in Tel Aviv to discuss alternative paths for Israeli soldiers who refuse to serve. The first-of-its-kind conference aimed to explore options for those objecting to military service.

Attendees emphasized the importance of standing against the war and questioning the motivations behind serving in the IDF. One attendee shared their personal experience, stating that they had come to realize there was no direct connection between defending civilians and participating in the conflict.

The conference focused on exploring alternative paths for conscientious objectors, including civil service options, education, and other forms of involvement that do not involve military combat. Participants discussed ways to create a more inclusive and equitable society where all individuals feel valued and respected.
