Israel’s Gaza Campaign Sparks Intensified Violence and Humanitarian Crisis

Israel has been embroiled in a crisis in the occupied West Bank, particularly in the south, with Palestinian injuries on the rise. According to reports, two Palestinians have been injured during an Israeli raid in the town of Idhna west of Hebron. The incident highlights the escalating wave of violence across the West Bank, which has also seen a surge in settler attacks.

The US- and Israel-backed aid distribution plan for Gaza has faced criticism from humanitarian groups, who argue that it falls short of meeting local needs. The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that settlers have injured over 220 Palestinians this year alone, with a rate of 44 injuries per month – the highest in at least 20 years.

Hamas officials have expressed skepticism about the US proposal to end the conflict, stating that it does not meet their demands and would only lead to further violence. The Israeli military has also expanded its operations in northern Gaza, ordering Palestinians to leave several areas citing “security concerns.”

The latest strikes in Lebanon have added to the region’s instability, with at least one person killed in air raids near the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. The UN has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied West Bank as being in the wrong direction for a two-state solution.

As the situation continues to deteriorate, concerns are growing about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the al-Awda Hospital is now out of service after an Israeli order was issued to evacuate the building, leaving no remaining functional hospital in northern Gaza.
