Israel’s War on Gaza: 51 Dead and Tensions Rise

Israel launched air strikes in the Gaza Strip yesterday, killing at least 51 people, according to medical sources. The attacks also targeted a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 20 people, including six children and five women.

The Israeli military denied targeting Kamal Adwan Hospital, where 29 people were killed in the attacks. However, a Hamas official confirmed that international mediators have resumed negotiations with Israel over a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear program has raised concerns, as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned of an escalation in near weapons-grade uranium production. The situation is further complicated by Israeli warplanes flying above Beirut and striking southern Lebanon, violating a fragile ceasefire.

Thousands of patients in Gaza are waiting for Israeli permission to leave the territory for medical treatment, with at least 2,500 children in dire need of urgent care. Doctors have given one patient, Osaid Shaheen, only three doses of chemotherapy before supplies run out, leaving him at risk of having his eyes removed.

The international community has condemned Israel’s actions, with Amnesty International declaring that it is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The organization’s report was rejected by Germany, but the issue remains a pressing concern for human rights advocates worldwide.

As tensions rise, Palestinian rights activists are calling for a day of fasting on December 12 to express solidarity with Palestinians experiencing hunger and bombardment in Gaza.
