Israel’s war on Gaza has claimed over 200 lives, with at least 73 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks since dawn. The enclave is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with more than 430 food items still blocked by Israel.
A six-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man have died from malnutrition, taking the total number of hunger-related deaths to 227 since the war began. Two Hamas delegations are currently in Egypt for talks on securing a ceasefire deal, as Israel pushes ahead with its phased occupation strategy.
International pressure is mounting, with Australia, Canada, Japan, and 23 European allies calling for Israel to allow more aid into Gaza. Germany and Hungary did not sign the statement.
UN officials have criticized Israeli delays in clearing humanitarian aid, saying that it wastes “precious time” critical to aid delivery. Protests against Israel’s actions are also taking place, including a rally near Riga Castle during the visit of Israeli President Herzog.
The conflict has left Gaza’s child amputees facing a long road to recovery, with limited resources and medical staff making access difficult. Meanwhile, Israeli forces have raided several towns in the occupied West Bank, including Meithalun and Sebastia, sparking widespread outrage among Palestinians.
As the situation continues to deteriorate, at least 89 Palestinians have been killed and 513 injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past 24 hours. Five more Palestinians, including two children, have starved to death, raising the total number of hunger-related deaths to 227.
