Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has formally acknowledged ITI Limited’s contribution to the successful deployment of the NISAR satellite onboard GSLV-F16 on July 30, 2025. The company was commended for delivering avionics systems within strict timelines and meeting quality benchmarks set by the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
The NISAR satellite, a collaborative effort between NASA and ISRO, marks a historic milestone as India’s first joint Earth observation project with the US. Weighing 2,393 kg, the satellite was accurately placed into its designated orbit using the GSLV-F16 rocket. ITI Limited’s Palakkad unit supplied critical avionics systems, including 28 avionics and 18 HMSA packages.
The NISAR satellite aims to monitor Earth’s surface with high precision using dual-band radar systems. With a projected cost of USD 1.5 billion, it is one of the most advanced Earth observation projects. ITI Limited has supported several critical missions, including Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Aditya-L1, and the OneWeb launch.
Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited, stated that ISRO’s recognition reflects the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and quality delivery. Sheena Abraham, Group Director of ESAE, added that ITI Palakkad’s support was vital to realizing avionics systems according to ISRO’s stringent standards.
As a leading supplier in the telecom sector, ITI Limited provides solutions in switching, transmission, and subscriber access systems. The company is also active in defense manufacturing, smart infrastructure, IoT, e-governance, and IT services.
