J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference Returns to San Francisco with $90 Million Economic Boost

The Westin St. Francis Hotel in Union Square will host the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, one of the largest conventions in San Francisco, for the 43rd year. The conference attracts global industry leaders, investors, and tech creators, generating over $90 million for the city’s economy. According to Anna Marie Presutti, President and CEO of SF Travel, this is one of San Francisco’s top two economic drivers among major conferences.

The event has been a significant contributor to the city’s hospitality industry, with convention-goers expected to visit local businesses, dine at restaurants, and stay at hotels. The conference has also seen an increase in security presence, including SFPD ambassadors.

This year’s conference comes after a long hotel strike was resolved just in time, and the inauguration of Mayor Lurie. City leaders hope that this event will pave the way for more conventions to come, citing Mayor Lurie’s efforts to attract conferences back to San Francisco. The President and CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Rodney Fong, is optimistic about the future, stating that “the future is bright for the city.”
