Major health insurance companies Cigna and Centene have withdrawn from this year’s J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, citing the recent assassination of a high-profile executive. This decision is part of a wave of 11 major companies that dropped out of the industry’s main investor event, according to J.P. Morgan. Other notable absentees include Walgreens, BD, Oscar Health, Agilon Health, Inari Medical, Applied Therapeutics, and several biotech firms, as well as U.S. Physical Therapy. The move suggests large health care companies are avoiding public appearances in the wake of the assassination.
