Jack Black Quashes Chaos at A Minecraft Movie Theater Screenings

A Minecraft Movie has become a box-office hit, but it’s also cinema theater’s biggest nightmare due to unruly fan behavior. Since its release last month, some fans have taken their enthusiasm too far, disrupting screenings with wild reactions and items being thrown on screen.

Actor Jack Black, one of the film’s stars, stepped in before a screening to ask viewers to behave. The crowd went wild as he high-fived fans, but it’s no coincidence that he addressed the chaos. Movie theaters have started including disclaimers saying “Please remember, be kind, be respectful” and warning about popcorn buckets not being used as Ender Pearls.

The director of A Minecraft Movie recently defended cinema screening chaos, calling it a “total blast.” Jared Hess said he’s thrilled to see fans making memories at the movies, even if it means some disruptions. Despite this, the film has become one of the biggest releases of the year so far, thanks in part to its passionate fanbase.

The movie follows four regular world humans who get pulled into a cubic world where their survival falls down to eccentric character Steve (Jack Black). A Minecraft Movie is now out and can be found on our video game movies page.
