Jaedyn Shaw, a forward for the San Diego Wave, is set to be traded to the North Carolina Courage in exchange for an undisclosed amount of allocation money. The deal was confirmed by sources to ESPN.
Shaw’s request for a trade has been ongoing for over a year, and her arrival at North Carolina should significantly boost their offense. With Shaw joining forces with Brazilian attacker Kerolin, who is returning from injury, the team will have a more potent attack in 2025.
Shaw had an impressive stint with the Wave, scoring 14 goals in 61 league and cup appearances since joining in 2022. She also won several titles with San Diego teams, including the NWSL Shield and the NWSL Challenge Cup. Shaw was named to the NWSL Best XI in 2023 and claimed the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic games.
