Jaguars Name Los Angeles Rams’ Director of Scouting James Gladstone GM

The Jacksonville Jaguars have appointed James Gladstone, the Los Angeles Rams’ director of scouting, as their sixth full-time general manager in franchise history. This move comes with Liam Coen’s staff already finalized and meets the NFL-mandated deadline to hire a general manager.

Gladstone’s hiring process was completed in under two weeks, with the team conducting initial and final round interviews with ten candidates. He will now lead the scouting team, preparing for the 2025 NFL Combine, where he is scheduled to speak on February 25.

The Jaguars’ new GM will join Head Coach Liam Coen, Executive Vice President Tony Boselli, and Owner Shad Khan in a leadership committee to make major football decisions. Gladstone has gained recognition for his exceptional leadership skills, having risen through the ranks of the Los Angeles Rams organization under Sean McVay and Les Snead.

As an executive, Gladstone led successful draft classes in 2023 and 2024, including picks such as defensive linemen Kobie Turner and Braden Fiske. His Super Bowl championship from the 2021 season will now aim to bring a championship to Duval County.

Team owner Shad Khan expressed his gratitude for the candidate’s preparation and time spent with the team, stating that Gladstone is “a class ahead” in every regard, bringing exceptional vision, ideas, communication, chemistry, and knowledge of the league.
