Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has silenced one of his most vocal critics after a dominant performance in Super Bowl LIX. ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky apologized for doubting Hurts’ ability to lead the team to victory, saying he was “unbreakable” and had proven himself as a big-game hunter.
Hurts completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. His performance was one of his best of the season, with two of his touchdowns coming through the air. In the NFC Championship Game, Hurts accounted for four total touchdowns, including three on the ground.
Orlovsky’s apology came after he previously said that the passing game was not good enough for Hurts to win a championship. However, Hurts has consistently proven himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the league, with a combined record of 103-28 in college and the NFL.
“I owe Jalen Hurts an apology,” Orlovsky said. “I’ve been one of the hardest on him this year, saying the passing game isn’t good enough. But he’s shown me that it’s not just about physical ability – it’s about believing in yourself and overcoming adversity.”
