Oscar winner Jamie Foxx is recovering after a glass was thrown at him during his birthday dinner in Beverly Hills on Friday night. According to a spokesperson, someone from another table threw the glass that hit Foxx in the mouth, requiring him to get stitches.
Foxx gave an update on his Instagram post, thanking fans for their support and sharing words of encouragement. He wrote, “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed.” He also referenced his latest comedy special, What Had Happened Was, which debuted at number one on Netflix.
Foxx’s daughters Corinne and Anelise, as well as ex Kristin Grannis, were in attendance at the birthday gathering. The incident was reported to the police, but authorities determined that the initial report of an assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded, instead finding it to be a physical altercation between parties.
Foxx recently spoke about his medical emergency during filming for his forthcoming film Back in Action, stating he had suffered a stroke and brain bleed. He is set to star alongside Cameron Diaz in the Netflix film, which will arrive on January 17th.
