Janelle Brown Accuses Kody of Mismanaging Family Fund Before Divorce

Janelle Brown, a star of *Sister Wives*, has accused her ex-husband Kody Brown of mismanaging their family fund before they ended their spiritual marriage. In an interview with Christine Brown during the January 26 episode, Janelle claimed that money became a contentious issue, particularly after they split as plural units. She admitted to taking control of funds herself and denied any wrongdoing by Kody, stating he had access to the family accounts but wouldn’t share details about his actions.

Janelle further alleged that during their final years together, Kody took significant amounts of money behind her back without proper justification. She claimed she wasn’t privy to these transactions and expressed frustration over his lack of communication regarding the finances. Despite Kody’s denial, sources close to the couple revealed that Janelle made her claims after deciding to leave him due to feeling “grown up” and outgrown their relationship.

The divorce between Janelle and Kody was finalized in December 2022, following a year of splits among their other children and subsequent spousal splits involving Meri Brown. Janelle confirmed her split from Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, in January 2023.

After Janelle made her accusations two months later, she reflected on past discussions with Meri about Kody’s claims of controlling the family finances. She implied that she felt surprised when he suggested she was in charge, noting that they had collectively planned how to manage their funds.

Janelle concluded the episode by stating she didn’t understand why Kody believed her control over the money and had no idea what he meant about his allegations.
